MACULA DEGENERATION & GLAUCOMA DETECTION

Retinal photography can be analysed to screen for abnormalities assisting with early detection of diseases such as macular degeneration, glaucoma and retinal changes that may be associated with diabetes. Retinal photography complements Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) Scans and Corneal topography.

This is to ensure the ongoing health of your eyes and ongoing safety and comfort. We have Orthokeratology contact lenses as well. Ortho-K is an innovative and non-surgical way of using contact lenses to gently reshape the cornea at the front surface to eliminate refractive error.$

Our Optometrists

Both optometrists are members of Optometry Australia and the Cornea and Contact Lens Society of Australia. They continually update their knowledge in optometry and frequently attend conferences.

HANNA KIM

BOptom Hons Class 1

Hanna is passionate about giving you personalised and professional eye care. Hanna has special interest in orthokeratology contact lens fitting and ocular disease management including dry eye management. She has 14 years of experience in optometry. In 1999 Hanna won the Safilo Australia prize for the best performance in Clinical Optometry 2.

Hanna is currently undertaking studies in ocular therapeutics which will enable her to prescribe certain eye medications to further manage eye conditions. She also speaks Korean.

CLAIRE LAW

BOptom

Claire has special interest in children’s developmental vision and its far-reaching effects on learning. She has furthered her studies in the American Optometric Extension Program Foundation’s clinical curriculum relating to behavioural optometry. Soon she plans to start studies in ocular therapeutics which will enable her to prescribe certain eye medications to further manage eye conditions. She has 7 years of experience in optometry. She also speaks Cantonese and Mandarin.

Strathfield Eyecare is committed to continually updating to the latest techniques in treatments and providing cutting edge developments in optical technology.

For example, the picture on the left shows our Nidek Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) imaging system which provides accurate analysis of the health of your eyes via advanced imaging scans. Our Nidek OCT is a painless and non-invasive procedure that scans the structure of your eye creating a comprehensive 3D image of the microscopic layers of your retina. It can diagnose and monitor your macular to detect early signs of macular degeneration, glaucoma and other retinal conditions. Because in most cases the OCT can detect structural damage before patients notice any problems, with early treatment it could save the patient’s ability to see.
